Trace

 An end user who is encountering a particular problem can send a capture and trace log to the technical support.

To start trace:

  1. Select Options|Start Trace.

  2. Select Connection|Login.

  3. Connect to the host where the problem was encountered.

  4. Recreate the problem.

  5. Select Options| Stop Trace.

  6. Examine the two newly formed files, Capture_<session-number>.log and Trace_<session-number>.log, on your desktop.

Notes: A trace is performed on the one host connection for which the trace was started, and does not continue after the host connection is closed.

In the event that several traces were performed sequentially from the same terminal window, you must take the precautionary steps of saving the former trace files under different names to ensure that the latter trace files will not overwrite them.
