Establishing a User Defined Connection

Note: The administrator has determined (via the Administration Tool) which privileges to grant to each user or group of users. The user in this case has been granted the privelege to connect to any host.

To connect to any host:

1. Select Connection|Connect. The Connect dialog box is displayed.

2. Select the desired Terminal Type.

3. Select the Terminal Model.

4. Select the desired Connection Protocol.

5. Click Code Page if necessary and fill in the parameters.

6. Fill out the necessary parameters based on your choice of emulation.

7. Click Connect. The connection to the desired host is established.

Terminal Type: Changes the currently supported emulation.

Terminal Model: Determines the ID returned by the emulation program to the host. Make sure you select an ID that the host application recognizes.

Connection Protocol: Determines the communication protocol to be implemented in your host connection.

Code Page: Enables you to specify the mode of a keyboard. This sends the correct keystrokes for a country's or language's keyboard layout. For further explanation see Code Pages.
